Seven ways that will change how to manage a business

A company’s success depends greatly on the leadership skills of its representatives. Their position is key for a team to work, and this is not always an easy task.

A leader will always have a team of different people, with their interests and knowledge. They have the mission of – respecting and adapting to the differences – defend each employee’s independence, supporting the release of their full potential and all their creativity, stimulating their sense of belonging to create a true team

Leadership Profiles

The emerging leadership profiles will be one of the crucial aspects of managing a business.

Inspiration, example, delegation, centralization, vision? Or neither?

There will be a new concept of humanity without touch, distant, without hugs, or proximity incentives?

It is yet to be built. We have a new man, a new leader, and a new employee being made. How will those human beings be?

Need for motivation and productivity

How can we motivate and foster productivity in people? There will be enough proximity, considering the new social distancing environment. Will productivity be the same when groups are far apart and empathy in services isn’t fully available?

Under all circumstances, losing productivity compromises firms and salaries, and the loss of motivation leads to worse health and organizational well-being.

How do we motivate and become productive under this crossed fire, with all this incredible lack of information?

Decoupling fear and security

There is a lot to be made regarding decoupling fear and improving security. The fear-inducing speech is contrary to the safety speech. They can’t be present simultaneously.

This would be a schizophrenic speech and total loss of credibility. The secret is to find the speech that makes everyone want to be more responsible, more adults, more controlled.

Compromised growth

Most of the companies’ growth is compromised. Future times – maybe years – will be of salvation and survival. To most of the industries, surviving will mean victory. This implies that we take this crisis as the norm. How do we adapt a business to a constant crisis?

Treasury needs

Having the growth compromised, the need to assure the treasury becomes crucial.

This implies cost reduction, income decrease, and assure liquidity.

If there were times in history when “cash is king”, now is one of them. And in some time we will verify if, with all that is going on, we won’t also have a financial crisis with unbearable transformation rates and too many NPLs.

How do we maintain business going without treasury and with compromised liquidity?

The reinvention of the need to provide an experience

It’s impossible to ignore this. The client/consumer will continue to be interested in the experience. How to reinvent it? It is paradoxical, to say the least. And what kind of experience are we talking about?

Back to human basics

Finally, focus on the essential and provide people with at least the basics. The search for efficiency will become more important and decisive than ever, and training will have a crucial role in this, especially regarding the development of self-knowledge.

This leads, however, to a need for distant humanism that is yet to be found. What will it take for us to be human again?

With all of this, we will observe a world for which new skills are required, and to reskill someone takes much more time now than it used to in the past.

There are no answers. No one knows how to do it. We were caught by the future all of a sudden.

The only certainties we have today seem to be antagonistic. Only together we will be stronger (La Palice).

But how can we reunite? And under what motto? How are we going to work together? From now forward there will only be emerging strategies. And so, will we then return to our dexterity and individuality?

The world never seemed more paradoxical to me.
